Someone told me I should include our venue’s menu, but I think thats a little ridiculous and just and excuse to spend more money. What do you think?

if you have more than one food option that night usually you include that in the invitation and have the people send bakc what they want to eat, it makes it so the cooks know how much of each food to make, but you dont have to include everything most people just put options like :
Choose One:
chicken ____
pork____
and the people check which one they want. you dont have to include the side items or anything just the main selection.
I think they meant the response card’s meal option. You are suppose to list the two or three menu options so that the guests can mark/write on the response card how many will be attending and what food they want. Otherwise, how will you know how many of each plate you need at your final meeting with the caterer?
edit – I am confused by the thumbs down… are these people not including their meal choices?
If you are having a buffet, then you don’t need any meal info. If, however, there are options, people need to know what those options are, as many others have stated. The checklist style is common (Chicken, Steak, or Vegetarian)
I’ve never gotten a wedding invitation that included a menu. It would be a nice touch to add it to your wedding website (if you have one). But, at the time the invitations are going out, you might not even be certain of your menu.
I’m not married yet. But my cousin just had her wedding this past summer and I was in the wedding and we sent out the menu response cards. Which I think that person meant because it helps tally up who wants want. Like for example my cousin had three choices a meat choice a vegetarian choice and Seafood Choice and when the people sent back the RSVP card they also sent back the food choice card it just helps with the food portion in the menu. Also if you are having more then one dinner choice send the response card so your not left with extra food no one will eat.
it’s basically just
Choose one:
Steak ____
Chicken___
Fish______
nothing fancy…they don’t need to pick sides or anything…they just need to know the main part which is the meat part.
No. I can’t imagine why you would. If you were having a plated meal where you needed to know what each guest was ordering to give those numbers to your caterer, then you would include the choices on the reply card and have them pick which they wanted. Otherwise, you don’t list what you are serving in the invite.
you do not include the menu with your invitation – someone has either misspoke or misunderstood.
edit: we have some nasty little trolls running amok with the thumbs down – so i’ve given everyone an extra thumbs up to compensate.
